To learn how we can help you

Jeremy Manalis LPC, Executive Director

When I was around ten years old, I liked to listen to self-help talk-radio shows late into the night. People would phone up and share all their life problems with the radio host.  I was tirelessly intrigued with both the lives of the callers and how the radio host would give counsel to them.  Little did I know then, I myself would someday intimately interface with the lives of others for my professional work.

I am a licensed professional counselor and hold a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College.  The therapeutic approaches that I draw from in my work include the following: mindfulness, somatic, experiential, Hakomi, psychodynamic, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and emotionally focused therapy.

With past experiences as a bodyworker, craniosacral therapist, yoga instructor, and Outward Bound instructor, I bring a unique skill-set to the field of counseling.

My own counseling style has emerged from weaving together the many skills I have learned and the various trainings I have had along with my own life experiences.  This makes me a particularly engaged therapist.  I like to step right into my client’s world while staying anchored in my own.  I am kind and compassionate with my clients. And yet, at the same time, I can also be direct and straightforward.  I warmly welcome all my clients just as they are while also inviting them to change.

In addition to my counseling work, I am also an adjunct faculty member at Lewis & Clark College’s Graduate School of Counseling Psychology. I currently live with my wife and two daughters in SW Portland.
