Who I am as a Therapist
Every individual deserves access to care that addresses their unique experiences. I would like to acknowledge and validate that seeking help and engaging in therapy are acts of vulnerability and bravery. I appreciate your willingness to share and explore your healing journey in therapy!
My experiences as a Brazilian, Latina, Queer, cisgender woman have contributed to my understanding of marginalization, resilience, and the significance of creating supportive environments for individuals to express themselves authentically. These experiences have also enhanced my ability to empathize with clients who encounter difficulties when adapting to new surroundings or who experience a sense of exclusion. These insights drive my commitment to working with clients confronting systemic and interpersonal challenges and inform my dedication to social justice and anti-oppressive practices in therapy. Furthermore, I am dedicated to offering a socioculturally attuned, collaborative, inclusive, and equitable therapeutic environment in both Portuguese and English.
In my work, clients are the experts in their lives and the therapist is the expert in the process of doing therapy. I maintain a position of “not-knowing”—being genuinely curious and non-judgmental—by exploring possible routes in therapy in partnership with my clients. This allows me to cultivate a therapeutic relationship built on clients’ autonomy, with openness, collaboration and respect, creating a space where clients feel empowered and safe to grow. I would be honored to accompany you on your journey!
“Change does not happen in isolation. It is through dialogue with others that we find new ways of being.” —Harry Goolishian

Who I am when I’m not a Therapist
I value the time spent with my cat, partner, family and friends from Portland and Brazil (virtually connecting through FaceTime or text). I also cherish solitary moments. My hobbies include cooking and baking, taking walks in nature, reading, watching films and series. I also love exploring the area, as I’m still new to the PNW. I am passionate about knowledge, learning, and stories, so conducting research, and exploring various topics is another interest of mine.
