Who I am as a Therapist

Welcome! I’m looking forward to getting to know you. As a therapist, I strive to create a space where clients of all backgrounds and identities feel welcome and safe. I truly believe that my clients are the experts on themselves and their experiences. I prefer to follow the lead of my clients and work at their pace as we navigate the path of healing and growth together. You are in charge! If we use a car metaphor, I will always let you be the main driver, while I’m in your passenger seat. I have great experience as a co-pilot and love that job! My approach emphasizes the importance of building a relationship and connecting as humans first. Some of our time together may look like taking steps towards meeting goals, while some sessions may focus on navigating the challenges that arise in everyday life and celebrating the small victories. I love finding new ways to deepen our relationship and connect to support this work. This can include learning about your pets or favorite people. You’ll likely hear about my quirky dog at some point!

I practice from a humanistic approach and incorporate interventions from ACT and CBT to help clients meet their goals. I often incorporate mindfulness and other evidence-based intervention as necessary—again, you’re the driver. In my practice as a therapist, I enjoy harnessing clients’ personal values to help them work towards living their most authentic lives. This can look like helping you assess what your needs are and work towards choice points that support your long-term goals, or looking at past experiences to better understand where you want to go. I value collaboration with your important people to support our work.

Although I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds, I am particularly passionate about working with children, families, teens, and emerging adulthood clients. I have a strong background working with LGBTQ+ children and teens and supporting folx with other marginalized identities.
