Who I am as a Therapist

As a therapist, I strive to create a client-led process that is nonjudgemental and healing. Every one of us are a part of different systems (families, relationships, institutions) that affect who, what, and how we experience this life. Within the many systems we are immersed in come huge challenges and transitions that although we often attempt to face alone, and shouldn’t have to. My goal is to increase insight, self compassion and perspective by truly listening and possibly even challenging you at times (with appropriate humor of course)! I will never claim to know what you are going through, as this is YOUR lived experience. However, I am committed to creating an authentic, curious, and compassionate space in which you feel understood and heard, and most importantly, not alone. As a therapist, I am influenced by attachment, narrative and emotion focused models, and use an integration of other evidence-based modalities as I see fit. I am most passionate about working with children, teens, and their families, and have valuable experience in the community mental health setting working with diverse populations. It is incredibly important for me provide a space in which all unique identities can be honored. I recognize the privilege and power that I hold as a therapist, and it is a crucial part of my work that you feel welcomed and respected. Working with me means that we will be working side by side to utilize the unique strengths that I believe you already have inside of you.
