Who I am as a Therapist

I believe that our relationships and the stories we carry about them are often the most important parts of our lives. When we feel anxious, depressed, or insecure, it often comes from feeling disconnected from the partners or family members who help make us who we are. I work with couples and families to explore the stories of how we’ve become disconnected and to write the next chapter of what we want our relationships to look like moving forward.

As a student therapist and former theatre artist, I am drawn to an approach that is grounded in narrative therapy and attachment theory, and that emphasizes curiosity, playfulness, warmth, and maybe a dad joke here and there. I help couples and families navigate disconnection in many forms, and specialize in working with those facing unique challenges due to neurodivergence, major life transitions, and intercultural/interracial relationships. I also work with teenagers and individuals looking to engage in exploration of identity, and teenage boys and adult men seeking a healthier relationship with their masculinity.

I feel called to this work to help clients feel seen without having to reduce themselves—or anyone else—to a single story. Together, we can embrace a more nuanced view of ourselves and each other, and rewrite the themes of our relationships to center compassion, understanding, and connectedness.

“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” —Albert Camus
