Who I am as a Therapist

In times like these, with so much divisiveness in the air and so many distractions around us, it can be all too easy to talk past each other and become disconnected. And when we feel disconnected—from our loved ones, from our cultures, or from ourselves—we can quickly fall out of touch with the things that make us feel safe, seen, and secure.

I believe that the best place to reconnect is at the intersection of feelings and meanings: What would it mean and how would it feel to start relating to each other in the ways that we actually want, instead of just trying to fit the mold of how we’re “supposed to” be with one another? My goal is to work with clients in a warm and thoughtful way to explore this question so they can take more ownership over the stories of their lives and relationships, and build a more secure bond with those who matter most to them.

As a biracial person with ADHD who grew up in places that prioritized binary “either this way or that way” thinking, I’m very familiar with how hard it can be to find belonging at the intersection of multiple identities. If you’ve been looking for help navigating life at the intersections of race, culture, gender, or neurodivergence, then please reach out and I’ll be sure to prioritize that in our work together.

“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” —Albert Camus
