Who I am as a Therapist

As a therapist, I practice from a relational, person-centered approach, which emphasizes the importance of the therapist-client relationship influence for change. I greatly value our therapeutic relationship, and show up as my genuine, non-judgmental self to connect authentically with you. I practice this by showing up as a human in the room with you; I use humor, will laugh alongside you, and don’t follow the “blank slate” approach.

In our care together, you are the expert of your own journey and life experiences, while I have the privilege and honor of walking alongside you in it. Together we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and what approaches may support you best in this journey. In my practice, I use evidence-based approaches, and most often pull from systemic, humanistic and Internal Family Systems (IFS) modalities, and filter in DBT skills as needed. I believe that community is an important part of healing, and I will support you to identify what this looks like for you.

I am passionately committed to providing an affirming, inclusive space for all clients. As a cishet-white woman, I am mindful of how my identities and privilege show up in the therapy room and impact the client-therapist relationship. I have experience working with those whose lived experiences are impacted by systemic oppression, including but not limited to BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, and practice from a cultural-humility lens.

Clinically, I have experience of walking with clients through their experiences of grief, shame, trauma, peri and postpartum depression, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, and provide neurodivergent-affirming care. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey!

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” – Carl Rogers

Who I am when I'm not a Therapist

Outside of the therapy space, you can find me getting my hands in the dirt of my garden, exploring a new coffee shop with friends, or working on a knitting project. I love hanging out with my family (partner, dog, and 2 cats) and working on projects around my house. I enjoy paddle boarding in the summer and engaging in gentle movement of my body!
