Who I am as a Therapist

As a therapist, I act as both guide and witness. I will stand next to you as we wade together through the muck and magic, offering insight and perspective while ensuring you have the proper gear to make it through. And just as importantly, I will bear witness to your own growth, your own wisdom, intuition, and strength. One of my main goals as a therapist is to teach you to be empowered in your life — empowered to take back control of the narrative, to be the one in the driver’s seat, and to own the arc of your story. I also aim to help you find your curiosity and tenderness, allowing you to feel compassion for yourself, your experience, and the experience of life around you. When you work with me, expect to deep dive into your life to truly understand the hows and whys of who you are, with a lot of empathy and self-love. My clients typically find me to be very real, calm, grounded, and curious, with a healthy mix of integrity and silliness. I’m a previous theatre kid, so, you’ll get some of that.

Who I am when I’m not a Therapist

I am a baker, barista, visual artist, cat parent to three gorgeous black kitties, and a ridiculous coonhound. I am very slowly writing a graphic novel, and I dream of being an audiobook narrator. I adore travel, painting and drawing the landscape, reading, drinking loads of Earl Grey tea, and sitting in front of a fire.

  • BA in Fine Art and Art History: Hamline University, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Training & Experience

  • I have worked with kiddos from six weeks old to 9 years old in a multitude of capacities including non-traditional teaching and care-taking over the last 10 years.
  • I have taken courses in major theories and techniques for both adults and youth, professional ethics, social justice and diversity, assessment/treatment/diagnosis, groups, grief and loss, addiction, complex trauma, professional development, research methods, and psychopharmacology.
