Who I am as a therapist

I am truly blessed to do work that I love. I strive to deeply witness, understand and hold space for you in your moments of pain and uncertainty. In times of hardship we must be compassionate with ourselves and our process.  We all have uniquely rich and complex stories that shape our own meaning and understanding of ourselves and our world.  Many challenges can derail, uproot and halt us from harnessing our power and realizing our potential. I aspire to offer a transformative therapeutic experience that will enable you to realize your best and most authentic self. Together we will cultivate the skills, insights and self-confidence intended to benefit you years beyond our time together.

I provide a safe, encouraging and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. My style is warm, collaborative and direct. I believe that compassion and humor are vital ingredients for happiness and healing.

My therapeutic perspective is rooted in family systems theory and attachment work.  I bring to the therapy room a strong understanding of childhood and adult development, an awareness of individual and family culture along with an extensive knowledge of the impacts trauma has on early childhood development and attachment.  My approach is integrative and utilizes Interpersonal Neurobiology, Narrative therapy, Mindfulness, Play therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy techniques.

I have additional training in a trauma-informed psychotherapy called Child Parent Psychotherapy and Collaborative Problem Solving.  For children, my therapy utilizes play, art, sand tray, social stories, and exploring ways you can support your child.

In addition to my areas of specialization, I have education and experience working with a variety of issues, including:

  • relationship challenges
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • PTSD / trauma
  • adjustment problems
  • divorce
  • abuse
  • grief and loss
  • blended family concerns
  • ADHD
  • school concerns
  • women issues

Who am I when I am not being a therapist

I was born and raised in Montana and my heart belongs in the great outdoors. Hiking rejuvenates me and brings me peace. I find peace and joy in my roles as a wife and mother of two daughters. We spend our time together with our loving extended family and great friends.  We enjoy playing in the sun in the summers, going camping and hiking with our dog.  Gardening, biking and yoga are some of my favorite things to do along with drawing, painting and being creative with my children.
