Therapy is a very personal and unique process. I believe everyone can achieve healthy states of being.  The path taken to reach it is uniquely yours.  Identifying your desired outcomes and needs will help guide our therapeutic relationship. Talk, play, art, and goal-related activities are all options in our work.

As a therapist, I tend to be light-hearted and curious. I offer gentle yet focused reflections to encourage change toward your goals. While taking your goals seriously, I also believe humor has a place in therapy; sometimes it can be vital. I hold the utmost respect for your life experiences, values, and expertise. I believe often times you already have the solutions to your struggles, and my job is to help you identify them.  In this way, our work is solution-focused and strengths-based.  I can help guide you in unfamiliar (or all too familiar) territory to help you experience the best within your personal or family relationships. I enjoy working with individuals, families, children, and teens.

I have completed specialized training to support survivors of sexual abuse and assault.  I work often with individuals and/or families to help them recover and heal from sexual abuse and assault, as well as other forms of trauma. The pain that trauma brings is often deep, but so is the healing.

Wondering about me outside the therapy room? My soul craves the sun. I feel most nurtured and content when the sun is shining. I am a native Oregonian and thus have found other ways to find peace, joy, and rejuvenation when the sun is tucked away. I love to hike, garden, and generally spend time in nature, especially with my husband and daughter. I also love immersing myself in the city, exploring Portland’s wonderful mix of nature and industry.  I am mindful of the sights, sounds, and textures of my surroundings. Being in tune with nature and my environment helps me to be more in tune with myself.  As my client, I may encourage you to be aware of your sensory experiences to help uplift you, center you, and provide an outlet for growth and release.

I look forward to joining with you in the therapeutic process.
